Garbo Takes FHR to Victory Lane Again; Hulsey Finishes P7

FOREST CITY, NC :: David Garbo Jr., of Stonington, CT, drove the FHR Driver Development No. 8 Garbo Lobster sponsored car to Victory Lane at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 4th, while teammate C.J. Hulsey brought home a solid seventh-place finish.

The race was the fourth-round of the Zloop Big “10” Challenge and Garbo’s second victory during that series.

“I could not be more proud of this team right now,” said owner Jamie Yelton. “We have all worked so hard already this season and to see it paying off so early in the year makes us all really motivated for the rest of 2013. We cannot wait to see what this team can do in the coming months especially with the level of talent we have in our cars this year.”

Garbo qualified third for the 100-lap event and, with a plan to save tires early on, was able to gradually make his way up to the lead by lap 72. Once the team told him to go for it the young driver began extending his lead over the field despite working his way through heavy lapped traffic.

“Wow what a great night! I cannot thank this team enough for all of their hard work,” said Garbo after his Victory Lane celebration. “I am so proud to be able to give these guys another win tonight because no one deserves it more than them. This is an awesome team and I hope we can get back to Victory Lane a few more times this season.”

The FHR Driver Development team will be at Motor Mile Speedway (VA) on Saturday, May 18th with drivers Garbo and Hulsey for the Kesler Contracting Twin 125s. Grandstands open at 2pm Eastern and the racing action begins at 7pm.
